The IED-Simulator is used to achieve general training goals in Urban Operation like Awareness Training, Check Point and Convey-Training, Ambush- Training and more. It consists of a radio-signal transmitter with a range of up to 300 m. The 8-button transmitter controls a receiver for up to eight Firing Units. The Firing Units are cable-connected with the receiver. As Firing Units a variety of different launching devices like MGSS, DIFUE, LGSS, Man- Pad-Simulator and Single Shot Firing Units (FU) are available. Other features available, are a so-called “Splitter” and a four-pin cable adaptor. A “Splitter” is an electro-mechanical device which is mounted to one of the 8 plug in’s of the receiver. It devides/splits a single firing signal electrically which means that two FU´s can be initiated at the same time, this making the simulated effects even more powerful. A four—pin cable adapter allows connecting any pyrotechnic two-pin ammunition with the receiver. This way many “grandfather-type” ammunitions can be installed and used safely and remotely.
