Airburst - A non-fragmentation polystyrene shell case is used. Each shell contains its own electrically initiated lifting charge. The simulator can be fired from either a disposable launch tube, which allows three individual firings before disposal, or a reusable aluminium mortar can be supplied.
Groundburst - The composition is contained in a non-fragmenting low density polythene container. The 25mm simulator (S4001) has a non-fragmenting cardboard case.
Shellburst - (Day) produces a loud report combined with dense black smoke. (Night) produces a burst with a loud report, a vivid red flash and white smoke.
Fireburst - produces a large and fierce ball of flame for a short duration combined with a dense cloud of black smoke. Both Shellbursts and Fireburst are contained in non-fragmentation, low density polythene containers supplied with an electrical igniter.
