Grenade Discharger Smoke Screening Sand - Rubber Bursting Vehicle Discharged
Description
The Grenade Discharger Smoke Screening Sand is designed to be fired from the standard 66mm multibarrelled launcher using the in line central electric jack plug, over which the grenade fits. The grenade is then launched electrically from the vehicle; the firing ignites the ejection charge in the base can and simultaneously ignites a delay element. The grenade is launched for a distance of 20 to 35 metres or 60 to 90 metres at which point the delay element terminates in the ignition of a small bursting charge within the rubber body. This scatters the ignited sub-munitions which produce a sand coloured screen within 5 to 10 seconds with a duration of 15 seconds minimum.
